After making this first series of experiments it’s time for some reflection. The adhesion strength of the fibers with the cellulose core was even more functional then we would have thought. The fibers attached to each other only by soaking it in water, no other additions. Working with the material and at the same time visiting a paper mill, helped us to evolve our working system. For example the drying process was taking quite some time. We can speed up this process by heating the mold or the material. What we saw at the paper mill was a water subtraction technique like a salad spinner. When we continue experimenting with molding the fibers we will use this information.
